Executive Director - Angela B. Harwell
Angela believes that when you reflect back on your life, the moments that will stand out are the moments when you have done things for others. This is why you will find Angela always eager to volunteer, no matter the task for local, state and national non-profit organizations.
She is no stranger to pageantry, having held back to back state titles. She was Mrs. Florida Galaxy 07 and Mrs. Florida United States 08, making over 100 appearances during each of her reigns and promoting her platform on volunteerism. October 2009, Angela won the national title as Mrs. United America.
Angela and her husband Bruce reside in Lakeland FL and have two grown daughters and celebrated the birth of their first grandchild, Isabella on September 4, 2009. Angela is a business consultant and Bruce is a manufacturer's representative for the automotive and performance racing industry, currently in his twenty-fifth year. When not working or volunteering, they enjoy fishing, traveling, Broadway plays, and playing with their two Jack Russell terriers, Guinness and Bailey.
A crown is only a keepsake until it is brought to life by a titleholder by her service to others.

- John Santarpia - Treasurer
John is the president of Magnify Credit Union of Polk County which serves 11,500 members and has assets of over $100 million. He is a graduate of James Madison University and a member of the American Institute of CPA's. John has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1985 and served as President and CEO of the Department of Vetrans Affairs Federal Credit Union for over a decade prior to coming to Magnify (formerly Community First Credit Union) in 2003. Prior to that, he held a variety of auditing and management positions in government and the private sector. John resides in Lakeland with his two daughters.

Shawna Taylor
Shawna is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where she majored in Elementary Education. She is currently a Kindergarten teacher in North Lakeland. Shawna is the reigning Mrs. Lakeland America and placed 2nd Runner-up at the 2009 Mrs. Florida America pageant last July. She will be representing Lakeland again this May in the 2010 Mrs. Florida America Pageant in Orlando at the Westgate Lakes Resort. Her platform is “Improving Literacy in Education,” and she has had the opportunity to donate hundreds of literacy materials to children in need at various volunteer events throughout Polk County.
Shawna and her husband Brandon reside in Central Lakeland. Brandon is a musician and national recording artist. He recorded his first solo album “It is What it Is,” in January of 2009. In their spare time, they enjoy landscaping, singing karaoke, traveling and playing with their adorable Boston Terrier, Poppy.
Shawna is excited and honored to be a part of this year’s Miss Lakeland Pageant and wishes all of the contestants good luck as well as a year filled with memories, volunteer opportunities and friendships that will last a lifetime!

He was a three year member of the Miss Arkansas Court of Honor and a four time Miss Louisiana Pageant dancer and entertainer. Kenneth was a volunteer for the 1998, 1999, and 2000 Miss Teen USA pageants, as well as having been featured in tapings for the event alongside megastars 98 Degrees. He has directed, produced, emceed, choreographed, judged, and entertained at over 200 local, state, national, and international pageants.
Kenneth directed and produced his own national system for five years and as a pageant consultant and coach he has worked with contestants who have competed in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss America pageants. His 2002 national titleholder Katie Stam was recently crowned Miss America 2009.
Having lived and worked in Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Florida, Kenneth has had the opportunity to associate himself with some of the nation’s top pageant systems, directors, producers, contestants, and talent. As a business owner and entrepreneur, he is working toward opening a corporate events planning company in central Florida in mid 2009.
